Research Analyst - Neurobiology of Depression and Aging
The Neurobiology of Depression and Aging (NDA) Program has an opening for a part-time, contract (12 months) Research Analyst. This position provides research support to Dr. Yuliya Nikolova and her lab members, and will manage multimodal neuroimaging data for the collaborative Cognitive Dysfunction in the Addiction (CDiA) study. It offers the opportunity to be part of a productive team and benefit from active collaborations between Research Programs at CAMH.
Processing and analysis of multimodal (structural and functional) MRI data in a large-scale clinical cohort.
Assisting in the writing of scientific manuscripts summarizing this work.
Working with trainees to write and maintain high quality online documentation for computational/research tools and workflows used in the lab.
You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable health and safety and regulatory and legislative requirements. This part-time, 12-month contract position is located at 250 College Street at the College Street Site of CAMH.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., Computer Science, Informatics Technology, Physics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience) with a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a research environment. The candidate will have 1) a solid understanding of data handling and fundamental biostatistics, including some previous work with MRI data ( experience with advanced functional MRI modeling techniques and brain-behaviour relationship modeling is an asset ), 2) experience with computational tools including command line (linux, unix), version control, and cloud computing, 3) proficiency in R, MATLAB or Python ( experience with Freesurfer, FSL, SPM, or AFNI is an asset ), 4) experience with regression, mixed models, and principal component analysis ( experience with multivariate statistics is an asset ).
You are flexible and willing to learn and adapt to different work assignments in a team setting, as well as work independently with minimal direct supervision. Understanding of and appreciation of systemic and personal privilege related to diversity, with ability to work with stakeholders of diverse identities and ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is required.
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
