Your New Role

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Product Engineering Team as a Senior Product Engineer

Description of team : The Product Engineer role participates in every phase of the manufacturing cycle from quotation to delivery, interacting with all departments of the organization.

Main functions:

· Coordinate with Sales & the customer to help define the scope of work to be performed within the current manufacturing phase of the project (process development, characterization, qualification, validation, and production).

· Prepare technical quotations and proposals for build-to-print and turnkey mandates for microelectronic subassemblies, finished devices, and process development activities.

· Review product documentation (Bill of materials, design and test specifications, quality and regulatory standards).

· Assess feasibility; identify constraints, assumptions, exclusions, costs, and lead time.

· Manage design activities of new and existing products.

· Ensure compatibility between substrate, component, manufacturing material, manufacturing process, test methods, industry standards, environmental conditions, and customer constraints.

· Design PCB layouts, including component placement.

· Design stencils for automated solder printing process on thick-film hybrid and PCB substrates.

· Define step-by-step manufacturing processes and estimate labour rates: SMT, through-hole and hand solder, flip-chip and die placement, gold and aluminum wire bonding, glob top and encapsulation, dicing, manual assembly.

· Coordinate with Process Engineering to identify manufacturing tooling needs.

· Manage product documentation and change control.

· Draft and maintain product documentation for ERP (Bill of materials, manufacturing traveller, manufacturing drawings, and work instructions).

· Prepare and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Temporary Manufacturing Instructions (TMI), and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (pFMEA).

· Act as a primary technical contact.

· Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, Process Engineering, and Production.

· Provide technical support to Customers and Vendors.

Requirements and working conditions:

· Educational level: Electrical Engineering – Microelectronics is an asset.

· Member of the OIQ, or at least in the process of being a member of OIQ.

· Leadership and managerial experience.

· Great people skills for both internal communications and external with customers.

· Microelectronics manufacturing,

· Familiar with the following standards:

o NASA Standards: NASA-STD 8739.1, NASA-STD 8739.4, NASA-STD 8739.6

o IPC-A-610, MIL-STD-883, J-STD-001, including Space Addendum

o PEM-INST-001, EEE-INST-002 (component selection, screening, and qualification).

· Intimate knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly and Printed Circuit Board Assembly manufacturing processes (solder printing, component pick and place, reflow, cleaning, thru-hole installation, etc.).

· Manufacturing experience involving J-STD-001 Class 3 and Space Addendum Circuit Card Assemblies and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.

· Working in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100 manufacturing environment,

Description of qualifications:

· At least 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing of microelectronic components

· Microelectronics materials and thermal experience

· Ability to work with little supervision and to follow several processes.

· Product design capability an asset.

· Familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Gerber file software is an asset.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

· Languages asked for: Spoken: French and English / Written: French and English

Nous recherchons une personne motivée pour rejoindre notre équipe d'ingénierie produit en tant qu'ingénieur produit senior.

Description de l'équipe : Le rôle de l'ingénieur produit participe à chaque phase du cycle de fabrication, de la soumission à la livraison, en interagissant avec tous les départements de l'organisation.

Fonctions principales :

• Coordonner avec les ventes et le client pour aider à définir l'étendue des travaux à réaliser dans la phase actuelle de fabrication du projet (développement de processus, caractérisation, qualification, validation et production).

• Préparer des devis techniques et des propositions pour des mandats de fabrication à la demande et clé en main pour des sous-ensembles microélectroniques, des dispositifs finis et des activités de développement de processus.

• Examiner la documentation produit (nomenclature, spécifications de conception et de test, normes de qualité et réglementaires).

• Évaluer la faisabilité ; identifier les contraintes, hypothèses, exclusions, coûts et délais.

• Gérer les activités de conception de nouveaux produits et de produits existants.

• Assurer la compatibilité entre le substrat, le composant, le matériau de fabrication, le processus de fabrication, les méthodes de test, les normes industrielles, les conditions environnementales et les contraintes du client.

• Concevoir des mises en page de PCB, y compris le placement des composants.

• Concevoir des pochoirs pour le processus d'impression de soudure automatisée sur des substrats hybrides à film épais et des PCB.

• Définir les processus de fabrication étape par étape et estimer les taux de main-d'œuvre : SMT, soudure traversante et manuelle, placement de puces et de matrices, liaison de fils en or et en aluminium, encapsulation, découpe, assemblage manuel.

• Coordonner avec l'ingénierie des processus pour identifier les besoins en outillage de fabrication.

• Gérer la documentation produit et le contrôle des modifications.

• Rédiger et maintenir la documentation produit pour l'ERP (nomenclature, fiche de fabrication, dessins de fabrication et instructions de travail).

• Préparer et gérer les avis de modification d'ingénierie (ECN), les instructions de fabrication temporaires (TMI) et l'analyse des modes de défaillance et de leurs effets (pFMEA).

• Agir en tant que contact technique principal.

• Coordonner avec les ventes, les achats, les opérations, l'ingénierie des processus et la production.

• Fournir un support technique aux clients et aux fournisseurs.

Exigences et conditions de travail :

• Niveau d'éducation : Ingénierie électrique – La microélectronique est un atout.

• Membre de l'OIQ, ou au moins en cours de devenir membre de l'OIQ.

• Expérience en leadership et en gestion.

• Excellentes compétences interpersonnelles pour les communications internes et externes avec les clients.

• Fabrication de microélectronique.

• Familiarité avec les normes suivantes :

○ Normes NASA : NASA-STD 8739.1, NASA-STD 8739.4, NASA-STD 8739.6

○ IPC-A-610, MIL-STD-883, J-STD-001, y compris l'addendum spatial

○ PEM-INST-001, EEE-INST-002 (sélection, dépistage et qualification des composants).

• Travail dans un environnement de fabrication ISO 9001, ISO 13485 et AS9100.

Description des qualifications :

• Au moins 3 à 5 ans d'expérience dans la fabrication de composants microélectroniques.

• Expérience des matériaux microélectroniques et thermique.

• Capacité à travailler avec peu de supervision et à suivre plusieurs processus.

• Capacité de conception de produits un atout.
