This expert will possess the work knowledge and experience to complete mechanical designs in a fast-paced environment following company standards.Responsibilities:Design and detail required drawings by developing concepts and doing the required research, computation, and analysis;Using the latest CAD software, create all the necessary drawings for the machine shop, including detail, mechanical components, sub-assembly, and assembly drawings and BOM;Ensure that engineering specifications and other documents are stored accurately and at appropriate location as per engineering procedures;Execute assigned design responsibilities with the timely release of drawings by working closely with the Project Leader;Successfully execute assigned projects with the timely release of long lead and standard components;Ensure designs conform to Samco engineering standards and meet project requirements as per the Accepted Customer Purchase Order;Process Engineering Change Requests on a timely basis to ensure errors are not repeated;Maintain effective and ongoing communication with Mechanical, Electrical and Tooling engineering during the design process.Desired Skills and Experience:Post-secondary Engineering degree;3+ years of machine design experience;Advanced computer skills are required with an understanding of Inventor or some advanced version(s) of other 3D design software;Ability to create concept designs and detailed drawings using the latest company used CAD and Analysis programs;Ability to analyze customer requirements and develop equipment concepts for the handling of roll-formed steel profiles and panels;Knowledge of automated and semi-automated material handling and conveyance systems for the metal industry is an asset;Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems;Sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria;Strong written and oral communication skills;Ability to work effectively in design teams.Other Accommodations:Samco Machinery Ltd. is committed to applying the principles and guidelines of the AODA and strives to provide services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities.
