The Systems Engineer provides effective and timely operational and technical support to end-users concerning system applications, hardware and software. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems.
NOTE: Afterhour / weekend suport on an on-call rotation. Some travel may be required locally to support sites. A valid driver's license and vehicle are requirements of the position
Primary technical contact for maintaining and administration of Citrix environment.
Leads in planning and implementing changes to Citrix, Windows infrastructure
Provides second and third level support for troubleshooting of user access, system availability, and performance issues with core infrastructure systems including Citrix, Windows Server, Office applications, Backup
Collaborate with project leads to determine how requirements will be approached and managed for a particular project.
Installing, configuring and supporting infrastructure equipment including physical and virtual servers, storage, backup and recovery and core software solutions
Procuring infrastructure equipment and managing subconractors involved with installation
Configuring physical and virtual systems maximize efficiency and security
Maximizing system performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Other duties and tasks, as well as involvement with other IT projects as required and assigned
IT support in the supply chain, logistics and / or transportation industry an asset
Bachelor’s degree with Information Technology related certifications, diploma
Ability to be creative in the pursuit of technical solutions
Working experience and strong technical knowledge in a multi-site networking environments both on premise and cloud services
Working experience with networks, windows server environments, virtual server environments
Industry intermediate level certifications such as Microsoft VMware and/or other core infrastructure solutions
