Veeva is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Systems Architect, you are innately curious, have a penchant for problem‑solving and will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems. Our mission is to protect, provide for, and progress the software and systems utilized by our product engineering teams. This role is a blend of strategic planning and hands‑on execution, requiring a leader who can both design cutting‑edge IT solutions and roll up their sleeves to implement them. Ideal candidates have worked in enterprise software development or for a high‑growth technology company. Provide comprehensive architecture plans for multiple cloud‑based applications supporting our internal stakeholders across engineering, product support, training and services teams Partner with stakeholders (business leaders, DevOps, security, infrastructure) to understand application usage, future growth and strategic goals Recommend specific hardware, software, and methodologies that align with industry best practices, standards, and organizational goals Oversee the implementation and integration of key business systems Analyze performance and ensure the applications (GitLab, Jira, Confluence, TestRail, Mattermost), hosted in AWS, meet the scalability and reliability needs of our internal teams Establish metrics to monitor system performance, proactively identify issues and recommend solutions for optimal performance Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and reliability issues across the stack Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends including AI to identify opportunities for innovation within enterprise business systems Create detailed documentation of systems architecture designs, technical specifications, and implementation plans Communicate effectively with engineering and infrastructure teams and describe problems succinctly with sufficient detail Engage in real‑time communication during outages with both technical and non‑technical audiences Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or other similar degree, or equivalent work experience 8+ years of working experience as a Systems Architect 2+ years GitLab implementation experience Strong understanding of computer systems, networking, and data storage Experience with AWS and container orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and version control systems (e.g., Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation Experience with performance tuning of databases and distributed storage systems Commitment to excellent customer service Solid scripting skills; experience with Shell, Bash, Ansible, Python, Go, Ruby, etc. Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance PTO and company paid holidays Retirement programs Base pay: $95,000
- $175,000 CAD The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
