Overview

Our Client are seeking an Assistant Maintenance Engineer to bolster their maintenance team at the Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless maintenance operations onsite. Responsibilities will encompass various facets of maintenance management, including planning and scheduling work orders via computerized maintenance management software, contributing to condition reporting, occasional fault-finding tasks, timely processing of work orders, creation of job plans, and meticulous maintenance of comprehensive records detailing work completed and materials utilized on-site, both by internal personnel and subcontracted services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategize future maintenance activities to minimize potential delays and optimize workforce productivity.
  2. Develop job plans based on work requests and on-site inspections, ensuring resource availability.
  3. Assist in conducting and executing condition surveys.
  4. Coordinate necessary resources, including work scope, technical information, parts, special tools, permits, and manpower, ensuring efficient execution of work.
  5. Facilitate communication for the handover of equipment back to operations.
  6. Estimate man-hours and communicate with Stores Manager to reserve critical parts and materials.
  7. Organize off-site equipment repairs by third-party contractors/suppliers.
  8. Maintain close communication with mechanical, electrical, and CHP maintenance teams, monitoring daily progress.
  9. Provide weekly lists of approved and planned maintenance work for the upcoming week.
  10. Prepare monthly PM and CM reports, reviewing equipment history for recurring issues.
  11. Conduct risk assessments and integrate them into job plans, ensuring team awareness and compliance with safety standards.
  12. Scope work for third-party contractors, manage progress, and report back to management.
  13. Monitor and report maintenance KPIs.
  14. Maintain an updated Safety File by recording routine calibrations, certifications, and inspections.
  15. Assist in the closure of near-miss incidents requiring maintenance input.
  16. Coordinate and oversee insurance inspections.
Required Skills:
  • Honours Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including MS Project.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of defining tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety statutory requirements.
  • Experience with CMMS software such as Maximo or PEMAC.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance supervisory role.
