Ottawa ON, Canada Rideau Transit Maintenance Full time

Core Duties and Essential Job Functions:

  • Be the primary technical resource for all facilities systems assets including building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, low voltage electrical, building management/automation systems, fire protection systems.
  • Be able to converse effectively regarding these systems with both technical and non-technical persons.
  • Develop and document preventive maintenance routines and corrective maintenance procedures consistent with the requirements of O&M manuals, applicable regulation, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with the requirements of the project agreement.
  • Develop all processes with consideration to safety, resource efficiency, LRT operational impact, and cost.
  • Understand and develop reliability key performance indicators (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, Availability, Utilization) to create common visibility and understanding of the production achievements and asset performance.
  • Capitalize on the collected data to develop asset reliability reports and dashboards (RUL, Asset Health, Asset Performance) to create common asset centric visibility.
  • Perform evaluations of the residual service life deterioration and recommend optimum strategies for refurbishing or replacing assets.
  • Support development and optimisation of corrective maintenance practices.
  • Provide technical input to preventive and corrective maintenance strategy discussions.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support to the facilities operations team.
  • Conduct performance audits of the implemented maintenance programs. Perform regular oversight visits in the field to capture maintenance gaps.
  • Manage the asset lifecycle program for facilities assets, including identification/prioritization/implementation of optimizations.
  • Work towards a condition-based maintenance (CBM) approach to facilities assets.
  • Be willing to occasionally work-off hours to support a 24/7 maintenance team in the field.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Education:

  • Degree in civil or mechanical engineering from a recognised institution.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Provide of Ontario or Other Can
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within one or more of design/commissioning/operation/maintenance of building systems.
  • Working knowledge and experience with ICI building systems: building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, low voltage electrical, building management/automation systems, fire protection systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with Ontario construction regulations, Ontario Building Code, City of Ottawa construction bylaws

· Must understand the implementation and use of computerized maintenance management systems. (SAP/Maximo/Agility)

  • Strong data analysis skills, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
