The Branch Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of branch operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and compliance with company policies. This role focuses on driving sales performance, delivering outstanding customer service, managing inventory and merchandising, and overseeing product receiving and delivery processes. The Branch Manager ensures a safe, organized, and well-maintained facility while fostering a culture of trust, service, and accountability. Key responsibilities include staff supervision and development, schedule management, conflict resolution, inter-branch coordination, and maintaining effective visual merchandising to support overall business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Delivers responsive, high-quality customer service across phone, email, and fax, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Build and maintain strong, solution-focused relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams through effective collaboration.
- Supports daily branch operations, including opening and closing, and assumes leadership in the Branch Manager’s absence.
- Oversee accurate order entry, timely fulfillment, and high-quality customer service to ensure operational efficiency.
- Manages after-hours responsibilities and maintains clear, responsive communication with customers and team members.
- Champions a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with operational procedures.
- Ensures a clean, well-organized, and visually engaging sales floor, including shelving, endcaps, and displays.
- Manages merchandising standards by overseeing promotional materials and maintaining up-to-date product literature and catalogs.
- Maintains alertness and adheres to all safety-sensitive job requirements.
- Proficient in company systems for data entry, communication, and operational tasks.
- Performs additional duties as assigned, with flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs.
Qualifications
6 or more years’ experience with logistics or distribution and related functions.
3 or more years of supervisory or team lead experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Knowledge and execution of a quality system (ISO preferred), LEAN, and Six Sigma principals.
Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Proficient in using office technology, including computers, photocopiers, scanners, phone systems, and virtual meeting platforms, as required for daily responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position may require up to 40–43 hours per week and involves regular physical activity, including:
Frequent lifting of 25–50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.
Operating forklifts and material handling equipment for up to 6 hours daily.
Regular bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
Pushing/pulling objects up to 300 lbs. occasionally.
Prolonged use of hands, arms, and feet for equipment operation.
Periods of sitting, standing, walking, and twisting throughout the shift.
Visual requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment.
