About Us:

Alora Designs Inc. is an architectural design service offering solutions for new construction, additions, or renovation projects. We specialize in design services for the agricultural and commercial industries and are seeking a designer to join our team as we expand into the residential market.

Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic individual who will assist our clients through the process of designing, planning, and preparing for well-executed residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

The Residential Designer will support our Lead Designer and Sales team with the setup and preparation of CAD working plans and technical drawings for various residential design projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Consult with clients to prepare high-quality conceptual design drawings and full construction layouts.
  • Contribute to the analysis, planning, and preparation of site planning documents.
  • Assist in coordinating construction details with contractors and trade professionals.
  • Attend on-site or off-site meetings with clients in collaboration with the sales team and associated trades during the planning and execution process.
  • Prepare, read, interpret, and revise drawings and other graphical representations used in building projects.
  • Attend events or meetings as required to promote our services and brand.
  • Work within corporate safety standards ensuring personal safety and contributing to the safety of others in the workplace.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Architectural Construction Technology.
  • Experience with Architectural Residential Design.
  • BCIN qualified designer (house/small buildings).
  • Experienced with the use of various design software: Softplan, Revit, 3ds Max, Sketchup, Photoshop, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and other applicable regulations.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Compensation:

This full-time salaried position will be commensurate with experience and is accompanied by a full benefit package.
