Reporting into the Director, Internal Reporting, the Senior Manager plays an important role in driving key stakeholder information within Rogers. The successful candidate will leverage strong technical accounting, data management and communication skills to ensure accuracy and timeliness of Legal Entity reporting and IFRS16 accounting.
Ensure complete, accurate and timely company wide Real Estate and Lease accounting, reporting and analysis, including reporting under IFRS16
Provide support to CRE Business Managers, assisting with data analysis and investigation
Assist with the financial accounting and financial reporting cycle for Telecom (Wireless, Residential and Rogers Business) as part of Consolidated reporting packages
Review variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement on a monthly basis
Preparation of regulatory and statutory reporting for Wireless and Cable
Review monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and investigate/resolve issues in a timely manner
Assist the external auditors with their quarterly reviews and year-end audits
Ensure all internal controls and SOX controls are effective and operational
Develop an environment of continuous process and control improvement
Ad hoc projects or special analysis as required
Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
University Degree and accounting designation (CPA)
Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Pre-existing knowledge of Oracle and Essbase would be an asset, with desire to become a super user for these tools over time
Ability to build strong relationships within finance organization
Strong interpersonal skills and ease with communicating with various levels in the organization (including senior management)
