Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain both on-premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory structures, adhering to organizational requirements and best practices.
  • Manage and troubleshoot both Active Directory and Azure Active Directory services, including user and group management, permissions, authentication, and authorization.
  • Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) in on-premises Active Directory to enforce security policies and deploy system settings across the organization.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) services for on-premises Active Directory integration.
  • Manage and maintain the health and performance of both on-premises Active Directory Domain Controllers (DCs) and Azure AD tenant, including backups, replication, and disaster recovery.
  • Monitor system logs and events for potential security risks and troubleshoot issues related to both Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest Active Directory, Azure AD, and Windows Server technologies and best practices, and implement improvements to both infrastructures.
  • Be curious and excited to work in an environment that is not "Microsoft homogenous" and will involve integrating with different tools such as Google Workspace, open-source solutions, and other third-party management tools, leveraging both Azure AD and on-premises Active Directory as needed.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of Active Directory, Azure AD, and Windows Servers with other systems and applications.
  • Revise and update processes related to your field of responsibility, including Active Directory, Azure AD, Windows Server administration, and vulnerability patching, to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with best practices.
  • Document Active Directory, Azure AD, and Windows Server configurations, procedures, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Provide second-level support to users regarding issues related to both Active Directory and Azure AD, escalating complex issues to the appropriate team when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Windows Server administration, with a strong focus on both on-premises Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing both on-premises Active Directory and Azure AD infrastructure in complex environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory and Azure AD concepts, including users, groups, permissions, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server administration and security best practices.
  • Experience implementing vulnerability patching and update management processes for Windows Servers.
  • Experience managing the lifecycle of Windows Servers, including provisioning, configuration, deployment, migration, and decommissioning.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or MCSA: Windows Server AD Domain Services and MCSA: Windows Server are a plus.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices is a plus.
