About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centred educator to join our multi-grade Grades 2–4 classroom. This is a unique opportunity to work within a small, close-knit learning environment of ten students, where deep relationships and personalized instruction are at the forefront of everything we do. Our school is deeply immersed in Tsleil-Waututh culture and traditions. As a teacher here, you are not just an instructor but a lead learner who works alongside a robust support team—including a dedicated Community Support Staff member in your classroom, a Resource Teacher, a PHE Specialist, and a hands-on Administrative team.

Key Responsibilities
Experiential Learning: Design and implement hands-on, land-based, and inquiry-driven lessons that move beyond the traditional classroom setting. Cultural Integration: Collaboratively weave Tsleil-Waututh perspectives and practices into the BC Curriculum. Inclusive Instruction: Adapt and modify lessons to meet the diverse needs of a multi-grade cohort, supported by your classroom team. Relational Teaching: Foster a classroom climate rooted in kindness, patience, and mutual respect. What You Bring Cultural Safety: A deep commitment to practicing cultural humility and creating a safe, affirming space for Indigenous learners. Trauma-Informed Practice: Ideally, you have experience or training in trauma-informed pedagogy, understanding how to support students' social-emotional well-being. Patience & Care: A genuine love for working with primary-aged children and the ability to remain calm and supportive through various learning challenges. Collaborative Spirit: A desire to work as part of a "whole-school" team, communicating effectively with support staff and specialists. Why Join Our Team Small Class Sizes: Enjoy the rare ability to truly know your students with a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio. High Support: You are never alone in the classroom; you have a full-time Community Support Staff member to assist with daily learning and cultural connection. Professional Growth: We are committed to experiential learning and provide the space and resources for teachers to innovate. #J-18808-Ljbffr
