🔍 Job Title: QA Engineer 📍 Location: Hybrid on-site in Vancouver (up to 4 days per week on-site) 📅 Contract Duration: 12 months About the Role Our client is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to join their Accounts Payable software development team, supporting the delivery of modern, integrated applications across web, mobile, and desktop platforms. This role blends strong technical testing skills with a collaborative, quality-first mindset. The platform is built using PHP, TypeScript, C#.NET , with a React/GraphQL front end, a Windows desktop sync tool , and a React Native mobile app for iOS and Android. Fully hosted on AWS , the environment emphasizes automation, CI/CD, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Shift Left on Quality: Work closely with Product & Development early to clarify requirements, define test scope, and evaluate general vs. feature-specific solutions. • Test Planning & Execution: Create structured manual test cases; perform regression, acceptance, integration, exploratory, and edge-case testing. • Embed Quality Early: Collaborate with developers on pair testing and integrate exploratory/automated checks throughout the SDLC. • Test Automation: Improve and maintain an existing TypeScript-based E2E automation framework; identify gaps and recommend additional unit/integration tests. • Ad-Hoc Testing: Support rapid testing needs during active development cycles. • Documentation: Maintain clear, detailed QA artifacts aligned with product requirements. • Technical Execution: Use Linux CLI for daily QA tasks, contribute to automation scripts (JavaScript/TypeScript), and work comfortably with PHP, C#.NET, or Python. Key Experience Required • Strong working knowledge of macOS and Linux environments • Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing • Proficiency with terminal/Linux commands , particularly for server operations • Experience using the AWS Console to validate and manage cloud resources • Familiarity with virtualized Windows environments (remote desktops, VMs, or EC2) • Strong troubleshooting ability and the capacity to self-learn quickly • Ability to manage multiple tasks and escalate issues appropriately • Experience with E2E automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, etc. • Working experience with TypeScript and PHP , helpful for reviewing PRs Soft Skills • Strong communication and collaboration • Detail-oriented with a quality-focused mindset • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity Interview Process 1️⃣ Single interview with the Team Lead and Department Head covering technical abilities and team fit.
