If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you We are looking to recruit a talented Wedding & Events Sales Manager (maternity leave coverage) to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Sales, our Sales Managers are the key drivers to bring business to both the Resort and Hotel. They identify new business and expand existing business opportunities to develop increased sales. This role will work directly with clients in the Wedding and Social Markets.

This position is a 16-month contract from September 2026 to January 2028.

Compensation Information

$63,000 to $67,000 per annum (depending on experience and education)

Physical Requirement

Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; both in an indoor & outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills You Bring With You

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar or related role
  • Post-secondary education in Hotel Sales, Hospitality, or related field
  • Able to travel for business to various wedding shows in B.C.
  • Management and supervisory experience is considered an asset along with strong overall business acumen
  • Experience with Opera and Database systems
  • Results oriented, with background in Sales
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans
  • Excellent communication and copy writing skills in varied written and verbal mediums
  • Effective leader, problem solver, and decision maker
  • Relationship management background with industry stakeholders, vendors, and agencies
  • Thrive in a team environment and embrace collaboration across varied platforms
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Knowledge of the Hotel & Resort product and current competitive environment is considered an asset
  • A passion for outdoor recreation: ski, snowboard, bike and golf all considered assets
  • Holds a valid driver’s license

Primary Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Create and implement a sales strategy, in line with hotel goals, to ensure that revenue, reputation and market share goals are achieved, and results are monitored
  • Propose sales plans and special programs that drive measurable, incremental occupancy; increase average rates; increase business volume during off-peak periods and increase meetings and event sales
  • Identify new markets and business opportunities to increase sales and overall revenue for the hotel
  • Maintain accounts database, contact information, activity and business details
  • Update action plans, financial objectives quarterly, and implement all sales actions related to market areas as outlined in marketing/sales plan
  • Be present at weddings and events booked offering assistance, guidance and comfort to the group organizer

Solicitation/Negotiation

  • Solicit group and derivative Weddings and Events business and reach consistent achievement of sales objectives targeting the right business mix to meet hotel goals
  • Conduct quality sales calls
  • Coordinate and arrange site inspections trips
  • Provide prompt and timely responses and immediate communication to develop long-term business relationships
  • Follow up on business leads within a 24-hour response time
  • Customize and support the administrative aspect of business booked, proposals, contracts, and client correspondence
  • Utilize ROI template to ensure maximizing topline and NOI
  • Understand the hotel goals and business strategies

Relationship Management

  • Prepare, collaborate and contribute to the strategic planning, marketing plan and budgeting processes
  • Manage vendor and third-party relationships, negotiations, and contracts
  • Participate in partner relations throughout the industry and various sectors
  • Collaborate with the sales team to grow and develop new accounts and markets
