Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems Division is hiring a Power Systems Engineering, Lead to join our team in the Power Systems Engineering (PSE) group. The position can be based in either one of our Eaton locations in Ontario (Kitchener, Mississauga, Milton, Toronto, Ottawa) , Alberta (Calgary, Edmonton) and Laval, QC, Moncton, NB, Dartmouth NB, Delta, BC, and Winnipeg, MB.

We’re looking for a passionate and solutions-driven engineering professional to join our team as a Power Systems Engineering Lead, where you’ll play a key role in delivering high-impact technical expertise to clients. In this dynamic position, you’ll provide applied engineering consultation across power systems studies, power quality analysis, substation design, and training—helping us optimize performance, ensure reliability, and drive innovation in our energy infrastructure.
Technical Consultation: Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training.
Project Management: Manage assigned projects and job costs to perform work within budgeted cost estimates. Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers.
Customer solutions: Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, solutions relating to increase safety, reliability, or efficiency.
Engineering design: Perform engineering design duties, which require application of engineering principles.
Mentorship: Mentor or lead other engineers on projects including reviewing and stamping their work.
Training Delivery: Design and conduct specialized training for customers.
Success in this role comes from being a confident communicator and collaborator with the ability to independently lead large-scale studies and projects. You bring strong analytical thinking, advanced problem-solving skills, and a solid command of Microsoft Office tools to manage tasks efficiently and deliver high-quality results. Your deep understanding of electrical safety practices, combined with knowledge of both our products and those of our competitors, positions you as a trusted technical advisor. You consistently demonstrate effective time management, prioritize well, and uphold the highest standards of safety, ethics, and professionalism. Adherence to Eaton’s Values and Philosophy, as well as Safety and Environmental standards, is essential, along with the ability to meet customer compliance requirements such as background and drug screenings.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience working as Power System Engineer.
Experience in Ground Grid Design using CDEGS or similar software.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
Must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
Master’s Degree focused in Engineering, preferably in Power Systems
Experience in transient analysis
Active in Local IEEE
Short-Circuit Analysis, LV/MV Coordination
Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable
Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis is highly desirable
