About the Position

As a critical part of the Research & Development group at Rx Networks, the successful candidate will develop and test satellite-based navigation algorithms including high precision positioning area. The algorithms development and evaluation include differential positioning, Precise Point Positioning (PPP), PPP-RTK and improving existing positioning algorithms.

What You Will Do

  • Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, support the company’s overall strategies and goals.
  • Lead and contribute to the team’s research and development projects.
  • Perform tests and analyze to show value add of AGNSS services and high precision GNSS products.
  • Assist internal teams in assessing the performance of AGNSS and high precision products to meet customer requirements.
  • Research, optimize, evaluate, analyze and modify existing positioning algorithms for improvement working collaboratively with teams.
  • Conduct research on high precision positioning. Apply scientific methodology and principles to new products and ideas.
  • Keep apprised of developments in Global Navigation Satellite Systems and share findings.
  • Bring and maintain a deep knowledge on precise positioning and may continue to contribute to academic community through publications and conference presentations.
  • Attend workshops / conferences as appropriate, as well as learning independently from available literature.

Skills and Qualifications We Value

  • Bachelors / Master’s degree in Geomatics Engineering, Geodesy, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of experience in GNSS industry or research
  • Direct experience developing PPP, PPP-RTK or related precision positioning technologies and Estimation for Navigation
  • Experience with MATLAB®, Python or equivalent
  • Familiarity with SSR and OSR corrections, NRTK concepts, and other precise positioning services
  • Hands-on GNSS data processing experience with standard formats and interfaces (RINEX, RTCM, etc.)Deep understanding of GNSS and navigation technologies
  • Detailed and results-oriented with a sense of urgency
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC or can be structured as remote work, ideally, the time zone difference is within 4 hours of Pacific Time. If desired, relocation to Vancouver, B.C. will be supported by the company.
