Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is welcoming for a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to work with board-certified specialists and the ability to partake in cutting-edge veterinary medicine. Western is expanding the emergency service to meet the needs of the local veterinary community. Our goal is to provide a long-term career as an emergency veterinarian, with a sustainable shift-rotation schedule and stimulating yet manageable caseload.
Founded in 2001, WVSEC is dedicated to serving the needs of veterinarians and pet owners, offering state-of-the-art specialty and emergency veterinary services at one of Canada's largest, most comprehensive facilities. Our team includes specialists in Cardiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Surgery, and Internal Medicine, along with 24-hour emergency care. Our hospital culture fosters teamwork and camaraderie that naturally leads to delivering exceptional care to our patients, and service to our clients, referring veterinarians and our community. The hospital is well equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT, linear accelerator, mechanical ventilator, and a complete on-site diagnostic laboratory. 2 million-person trade area.
Western strives to provide our team with a respectful, educational, productive, fun and collaborative work environment where the primary goal is to provide world-class veterinary services and patient care. Candidates should have previous emergency experience and completion of an internship program is an asset. We pride ourselves in exceptional client service and communication skills. Our 24-hour emergency department is led by our team of four Criticalists and Critical Care Residents. We are a VECCS Level II certified facility. A valid DVM from an accredited university
