Senior Northern Advisor - Permanent Full-time Provides research, analyses, advice, and logistical support for sustainable improvements for northern communities Located in La Ronge, Saskatchewan
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Analyze socio-economic and demographic issues in northern Saskatchewan and recommend strategies • Facilitate meetings to identify critical issues and capitalize on opportunities • Prepare briefing notes, correspondence, and policy options papers • Develop new programs, policies, and strategies • Research, evaluate, develop, and deliver tools and training to increase knowledge and capacity • Represent provincial, ministry, and branch interests at various tables • Lead, design, co-ordinate, and monitor projects focused on northern development
Requirements
• Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in relevant discipline • Working with First Nations, Métis, and northern communities • Knowledge of their cultures, political structures, challenges, and opportunities • Building collaboration and effective working relationships • Ideally, development and evaluation of public policy • Ideally, knowledge of provincial government structures and processes, and relevant legislation, policies, and programs • Valid Saskatchewan driver's license
