Your responsibilities as the Bridge Engineer Lead will be working as the Lead Bridge Engineer under the Transportation group in our Calgary, Lethbridge, or Edmonton office.
This role will primarily include the development and management of a bridge group while, supporting the other MPE offices and disciplines, writing proposals, and managing projects.
The role will also include planning, assessment, reporting, design, and inspection for bridge projects.
Prepare technical reports, project specifications and other contract documents.
Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations to include 2D and 3D analysis for bridges as well as foundations, infrastructure and retaining walls.
Conduct design check and quality audit of drawings and contract documents.
Conduct site visits and inspections.
Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to junior engineers, technologists, and technicians.
~ Civil or Structural Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
A Professional Engineering Designation (P.Over 10 years of experience in the design of bridges and experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code.
Demonstrated experience in the area of bridge engineering with a recognized consulting engineering firm.
Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD.
