We seek aQuality Assurance Technicianto report to the Director of Quality & HSE.

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll play a pivotal role in upholding our stringent quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough inspections, tests, and audits to ensure that our products meet or exceed established specifications. Collaborating closely with our production teams, you’ll identify any issues or deviations and work diligently to implement corrective actions. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence will drive continuous improvement in our quality processes.

This role is based out of our Collingwood location at 20 Stewart Road.

Start Date: Immediate

Hours of Work: This is a full-time position working 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Performing process checks throughout the production process for both ceramics and assembly, including manufacturing, testing, and packing
  • Documenting all quality assurance activities accurately and in a timely manner
  • Conducting verification of the proper functioning of testing equipment such as scales and calipers
  • Continuously assessing the results of inspection findings and promptly communicating potential problems to the Director of Quality & HSE
  • Preparing reports/summaries and communicating results to the Director of Quality & HSE
  • Implementing hold procedures for suspect product and or product evaluations and testing
  • Conducting internal audits of the Quality Management System
  • Assisting with customer concerns investigations
  • Assisting and providing support during third-party audits
  • Participating in plant trials
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as quality assurance, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of ISO standards is a must
  • Internal auditing experience would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) & Bill of Materials (“BOM”)
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, techniques, and methodologies
  • Experience with quality inspection methods, tools, and equipment
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Teams)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately record and analyze data
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent critical thinking & problem-solving skills
  • Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, diligence & commitment
  • Candidates must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada under relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
