Job Description

  • Plan, organize and control multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve Audit, Review and Notice to Reader engagement objectives.
  • Participate in performing assurance procedures with a focus on the most current standards and regulations.
  • Review engagement file, financial statements, and appropriate income tax returns
  • Assist with due diligence and field examinations conducted for lenders
  • Assist with attestation engagements, agreed upon procedures engagements and compliance reviews
  • Monitor multiple projects and deadlines
  • Build and nurture strong working relationships with clients, peers, and team.
  • Share and transfer knowledge within the team.
  • Develop an understanding of the client’s industry and opportunities, issues and trends that impact their market or sector

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completed Canadian CPA designation
  • 3+ years of experience with assurance engagements in a Canadian public accounting environment, preferably including audits of Canadian reporting issuer
  • Thorough understanding and experience working with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian auditing standards
  • Experience with Canadian corporate taxes
  • Strong knowledge of Caseware, Caseview and MS Office (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to work as part of a professional team
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships
  • Strong project management skills and organization, able to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Ability to recognize accounting and tax issues and work with the team to resolve any issues that arise
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to solve problems
  • Ability to perform research and reach technical conclusions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
