POSITION SUMMARY
As the Site Engineer (Utilities) for the Ontario Line Project at WeBuild, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and installation of utility systems within the project scope. Reporting to the Utilities Coordinator, you will ensure that all utility-related activities meet the required standards and project specifications. Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful integration and installation of utility services.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and installation of utility systems, including water, sewer, gas, and electrical services, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with utility providers, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate the installation and relocation of utility services.
- Review and interpret utility plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient implementation.
- Monitor construction activities related to utility installation, identifying and addressing any issues or deviations from approved plans.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols during utility installation activities.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to verify the proper installation of utility systems.
- Maintain detailed records of utility installation progress, including as-built drawings and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and review of technical documents, such as utility plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical support and advice during the utility planning and installation phases, addressing any issues or concerns.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on utility installation progress and issues.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility planning, design, and installation within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in interpreting utility plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including utility installation guidelines and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and techniques related to utility installation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification or training in utility planning and installation or related areas is desirable.
