Manager Infrastructure, Azure Permanent | REMOTE / GTA, ON | September 23, 2022

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support Azure cloud servers and telecom infrastructure systems.
  • With minimal supervision, assist in the research, design, planning, implementation, maintenance, and support of existing infrastructure
  • Experience with management and maintenance of Microsoft Azure and VDI environment for 500+ users
  • Determines the setup, configuration and maintenance required for new and/or upgraded servers/systems/applications in Microsoft Azure according to industry best practices and/or standards.
  • Manages the configuration and ongoing monitoring of Active Directory infrastructure (i.e., AD replication/DNS troubleshooting, event log monitoring, OU maintenance, demotion & removal of domain controllers/DNS/DHCP of servers, promote DCs, etc.). In Azure.
  • Experience with the setup, configuration, and ongoing monitoring of office 365 environment (i.e., email monitoring, configuration of security settings, event log and backup monitoring)
  • Manages the ongoing system maintenance of servers including general server cleanup, system monitoring and patching in Microsoft Azure.
  • Track projects and system incidents through to resolution via the IT ticket tracking system and the various IT Logs
  • Develops and maintains system-related documentation to facilitate implementation and/or adoption of system changes following ITIL standards
  • Take ownership of backup and recovery solution and ensures all necessary systems and data are backed up and can be reliably restored utilizing Veeam in Microsoft Azure
  • Ensure systems are designed and implemented with High Availability and Disaster recovery.
  • Provision in close cooperation with third party service provider an IT infrastructure that is suitable for the group to access and use their business applications
  • Assess the relative impact of IT industry trends to current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects
  • Interface with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of IT experience including managing teams responsible for architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
  • Experience in areas such as systems administration, network and telecom design and administration, Azure Cloud operations and systems programming and administration
  • MCSE and ITIL certification
  • Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions as well as documenting them and presenting them to senior management
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business requirements with ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence and fully understand business impact
  • Ability to develop and deliver projects using leading edge technologies
  • Problem solving/troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Azure and Office 365, design, build, and administration experience, including Azure cost management.
  • Experience with Cloud mid to large size server and telecom operations including daily operations and maintenance as well as project-based work such as migrations, upgrades etc.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple, concurrent, and potentially, conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Dev-Ops Background preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Excellent ability to utilize available tools to effectively obtain results
  • Ability to mentor Systems and Telecom Analysts, as well as other team members through knowledge-transfer
  • Superior ability to understand and incorporate new systems, applications, etc. from test to production environments
  • Technical writing including documentation of procedures
  • The ability to translate complex ideas for non-tech staff/customers
