As part of an interdisciplinary team the LPN will provide a comprehensive assessment of clients with mental health and addictions related issues and provide treatment management, guidance and prescribe medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards. The LPN provides nursing care to clients, administers medications in accordance with organizational and pharmaceutical policies and procedures, and provides support to the Nursing Team and Physician as directed. The LPN will be required to work all shifts, which includes days, nights and weekends.
Provide first aid as needed and refer patients to medical care as the Clinical Team deems necessary
Responsible for patient Detox scales as per Pharmacotherapy & Detox policies.
Make patient medications available as prescribed as per Pharmacotherapy & Detox policies
Ensure medication policies and procedures are adhered to
Direct bedside care when necessary (i.e. bathing, Critical Care, etc.)
Current LPN license is good standing
Trauma informed training/experience an asset;
Knowledge of mental health and addictions and the 12 steps an asset;
Proven ability to work well as an integral part of a team which includes senior management, managers, supervisors, staff and outside agencies;
The ability to be flexible, adaptable and nimble;
Must be able to read, write and communicate verbally and in writing;
Negative TB test;
Valid First Aid/CPR Level C;
Valid Class 5 Drivers License in good standing
