Communications/Social Media Coordinator (Bilingual-French/English)

The Communications/Social Media Coordinator is a vital part of the team responsible for the successful leadership of a non-profit association. In consultation with the Senior Manager, volunteer Board of Directors and committee members, the Communications/Social Media coordinator will support the team in the following areas.

Communications/Promotion/Website :

  • Regular updates of clients web based association management systems, which is a suite of software tools, consisting of three main modules that are all managed through one single back end HTML tool. These include a Content Management System (CMS), a Membership Database System, an Event Management System as well as Social Media Platform.
  • Development of promotional pieces for association clients as required in client marketing plans.
  • Organize/develop material for client publications (newsletters, website, and directories)
  • Responsible for content updating and overall maintenance of client websites in conjunction with webmaster.
  • R efresh website content to better engage target audiences.
  • Development of regular e-blasts (via Mailchimp etc.) to membership promoting upcoming association activities.
  • Oversee all organizational communications pieces and marketing collateral for conferences and seminars in conjunction with the senior manager, events department.

Social Media Management:

  • Manage all aspects of client’s social media accounts, including Hootsuite, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn.
  • Develop relevant content topics to reach the associations members.
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and written in English & French for bilingual clients)
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “Social” way while following policies and procedures of clients.
  • Develop and expand community and/or influence outreach efforts.
  • Oversee design (ie: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, etc.)
  • Design, create and manage promotions and Social Media ad campaigns where appropriate.
  • Manage efforts in building online reviews and reputation of clients where appropriate.
  • Monitor online reviews and respond to each review where appropriate.
  • Analyze key metrics and tweak strategy as needed and outlined by clients.
  • Compile reports for Board Meetings showing results (ROI) where requested by clients.
  • Demonstrate ability to map out a comprehensive marketing plan, driving strategies that are proven by testing and metrics.
  • Develop organizational elements to implement a proactive process for capturing happy members online reviews.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in communications, Social Media Marketing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a volunteer Board of Directors, staff and external stakeholders.
  • Well organized, ability to multi-task and work effectively as part of a team or independently.
  • Proficiency in Windows based software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database Management HTML)
  • Proficient in the use of professional Social Media platforms.

Salary/Benefits

This position has a salary range per year of $60,000+ based on experience.
