Are YOU our next  Clinical Laboratory Assistant ?
We’re looking for a  Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our Histology team in Brampton, Ontario. Perform simple non-interpretive tests under the technical oversight of a Senior Clinical Laboratory Assistant or Medical Laboratory Technologist as required. Ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Independently perform simple non-interpretive tests escalating to a qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist for support and guidance as required. Ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Participate in all quality assurance programs and ensure company and Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines are observed. Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment as appropriate and deal with problems that arise. This is a permanent, full-time position. Shift details - Night shift-Monday to Friday 9:00 p.Access a health and wellness benefits program that supports you and your loved ones
Ensure that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing
Perform simple non-interpretive testing procedures
Ensure adequate amount of supplies are on hand and that validated reagents and testing kits to be used are in date order
Data enter the results into the company’s database as required
Ensure that quality control checks are performed as required in documented work procedures
Refer results for Medical Laboratory Technologist to review
Responsible for monitoring quality control guidelines and making appropriate corrections
Responsible to follow all relevant pre and/or post analytical quality protocols as described in the company quality assurance manual
Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification required or graduate of an approved laboratory assistant course or Diploma/Degree in Health or Science required
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS
Experience in Histology Working Conditions:
Exposed to biohazardous substances, chemicals and noise variances
