Critical Environment Data Center Technician Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Critical Environment Data Center Technician with 3+ year experience in a similar role, with capabilities in supporting mechanical/ electrical, and supporting water systems, generators and power supply equipment to place at our client, a Big Five Tech Giant. Terms: 6 month contract, possible extension
Location: Toronto, On Site

Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems (generators, PDUs, CRAC units, etc.).
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
Use telemetry and monitoring tools to track system performance and detect anomalies.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and installations.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Support audits and inspections related to data center operations.
Perform basic monitoring of the performance of maintenance and operations of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety) within the data center with supervision
Safely assists in providing emergency monitoring and response to various abnormal conditions with supervision, utilizing emergency operating procedures (EOPs).
Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies
Take daily operational readings of all electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
Ability to follow operating procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities
System control panel preventative maintenance
Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code
Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies
Assist in the troubleshooting, repair and replacement of instrument sensors and calibration.
Electrical and mechanical systems knowledge.
~3+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g, electrical, mechanical, controls, data center).
~ Basic networking and server hardware understanding.
~ Experience with electrical systems in high-availability environments such as water systems/ power supply and generators
