Our client is a leading North American manufacturer of packaging solutions, and this position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by assisting with the day-to-day activities in maintenance & manufacturing department(s). The role of the Maintenance Planner/Purchaser is to improve work force productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and co-ordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. Along with the production management team this position is accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate or assist with the activities of team members. Comply with all Safety, Operational and Employment policies and practices. Assist in specifying and ordering materials including maintaining inventory of spare parts. Identifies and secures all parts and material required to complete the work. Determine and identify any vendor delivered services for the work order. Develops a preliminary Work Force Schedule by crew ensuring all skills requirements and resource availability are met in collaboration with Maintenance Supervisor. Follow up and communicate schedule to all resources. Follow up with Supervisor that completed work jobs are turned in. Manage a backlog of work orders which require equipment to be schedule. Keep accurate metrics on the performance of planning. Produce a weekly Maintenance Work Schedule as well as a Projected Work Schedule for the next three to four weeks.Review completed work orders for completeness and accuracy, updating of machinery history data in E-Pac. Generate Reports to keep the management team informed of work progress and future work schedule. Ensure team is following protocols pertaining to safety, quality, production, documentation, reports, good manufacturing practices, 5S compliance and cleaning procedures. Understand defects to assist in rectifying issues.All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Associate Degree preferred 4- 5 of years manufacturing experience Preference will be given to candidates with technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude. Experience with Lean Six Sigma, ASQ, Quality ISO/SQF, Continuous Improvement a plus Ability to manage moderately complex issues and problems.Experience with cross-functional teams. Solid working knowledge of maintenance processes and related manufacturing. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook. Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information. Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations). Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
