JOBINFORMATION:

Job Description - Role Responsibilities

Our client is a Federal Government Department that is seeking HelpDesk/ Service Desk Specialists for a variety of multi-year projects located inToronto (GTA) & Ottawa.

These positions are ‘Symbiotic Academy – IndigenousTrain-to-Hire’ positions and qualified applicants are eligible for a scholarship and training program acceptance that will enable them to obtain a CompTIAA+ Certification to be job ready for these positions. (***SeeAcademy).

We are seeking Trainee Candidates who have an interest andaptitude for business and technology, who are willing to learn, and commit tothe completion of their training and subsequent employment.

Job Description:

Outlined below is a description of this ‘Academy - Train to Hire’position for a ‘Help Desk / Service Desk Specialist’.

TechnicalCriteria:

· Conducting network problem analysis and monitoring tasks

· performing user reported initial problem analysis andpreliminary issue triage.

· Recording user-reported information technology issuesin an incident tracking

System.

· Developing, implementing, and/or participating in thepreparation of procedure manuals and documentation for help desk use;conducting periodic user satisfaction surveys and track user problem trends

· Developing, implementing, and/or participating in thedistribution of network related information to users to include informationsuch as help desk procedures and network handbooks

· Participating in the development of a comprehensivetraining plan for help desk procedures; assisting in training personnel

  • Provide end user support for desktop and mobileapplications: Office 365, Outlook etc.
  • Troubleshoot network/connectivity issues
  • Provision and support hardware -desktop/laptop/mobile 
  • Support other business-specific applications asneeded
  • Provide support for printers
  • Resolve assigned tickets and escalate to Tier 2/3support as needed.

Technical Training or Experience:

· Applicants will be exposed to the following excitingcareer path opportunities:

o Working as Help Desk Specialist in an IT service deskenvironment, providing IT-related first-line support to more than 100 users.

o Supporting user in a MicrosoftOffice/Office365 environment

o Gain experience with Help DeskInformation Technology Service Management (ITSM) tools such as Axios Analyst,Remedy, etc.

Education:

· Must have: University degree in any discipline or a CollegeDiploma in Engineering, IT, Project management, or Business Administration

· Nice to have: University Degree in Engineering/Mathematics/ Science/ ProjectManagement/Business Administration
