The Society of Notaries Public of BC is currently recruiting for the position of Manager of Education Programs. This is a new position that will be key to ensuring students graduating from the Notary Education Program are competent and qualified to practice upon graduation.

Working with and under the supervision of the Director of Programs and Services, the Manager of Education Programs will have direct, practical knowledge of a B.C. Notary Public practice and a passion for education, training, and assessment.

Responsibilities

The manager will have knowledge of the legal practice of licensees, standards of practice, and best practices. In cooperation with the Director, and collaboration with the Board of Examiners, the Manger will participate in the development of competency based assessments.

Preference will be given to applicants with:

· Education and experience in the design and implementation of curriculum for adults learners,

· Evaluation of competency and knowledge, and

· Knowledge in development of the online delivery of practical legal (non adversarial) education. The Society uses the Blackboard learning Management platform

Qualifications

This position is based out of the in the Vancouver offices of the Society of Notaries Public and is ideally suited to a notary, lawyer, or paralegal who may or may not be in practice, or is an educator familiar with legal education directly related to notarial practice.

This position requires:

· A high degree of content area knowledge including its practical application,

· Knowledge of the Notaries Act and Regulations,

· Knowledge of adult education, learning, and assessment,

· Knowledge of administrative justice and fairness,

· Strong communication skills,

· A high degree of attention to detail,

· Ability to work collaboratively and within a governance framework,

· Deep computer literacy with the ability to access information online including the use of Sharepoint.

It would be advantageous for applicants to have:

· Education in curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation (preferably in adult education),

· Knowledge in development of the online delivery and evaluation of practical legal (non adversarial) education, and

· Knowledge of the Blackboard Learning Management Platform or equivalent.

This position is a permanent, flexible time, (minimum of 3 days per week) but we would consider full time depending on the applicant’s experience.

The FTE base salary for this position is $75,000 per year and includes a competitive benefits package. Please note that all positions at the SNPBC are subject to conflict, reference, and other checks.
