SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Warehouse Supervisor position is accountable for functional area execution in a dry grocery Distribution Centre. They provide leadership and direction to union colleagues to support the seamless operation and ongoing effectiveness of the Distribution Centre.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT:

  • Carry out and ensure the efficient supervision of the facility
  • Implement standardized processes and tools
  • Ensure that shift targets are met or exceeded
  • Monitor the flow of work in and out of the Distribution Centre
  • Address issues in a proactive manner
  • Support weekly workforce planning and scheduling
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of the shift and proactively manage issues
  • Evaluate and provide reports to the Senior Supervisor

LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Support Senior Supervisor at shift update meetings
  • Establish and maintain high personal involvement, availability, and visibility to employees
  • Encourage a positive work culture that engages colleagues
  • Manage and support the overall performance management and discipline process
  • Conduct disciplinary action as needed

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Ensure proper timelines are met with the inbound/outbound flow of goods
  • Establish and maintain productive relationship with the Transport team
  • Establish and maintain partnering relationship with union representatives on regular basis
  • Administer and ensure work adherence within Collective Bargaining Agreement

COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements
  • Identify hazards, review, analyze, and investigate the root cause of accidents for further recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with Food safety and Sanitation requirements
  • Ensure Environmental requirements are met
  • Ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement language, engineered labour standards, Asset Protection and overall company policies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the overall the team

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • 1-3 years of Supervisory/Management experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead and engage with diverse teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Available to work weekends
