Forge Recruitment has been engaged by our client, one of Canada's premier mid-size litigation firms in their search for a civil litigation legal assistant. Supporting two senior partners, the successful candidate will work directly with clients, lawyers and in tandem with the firm's administrative staff throughout the entire litigation process.
As the civil litigation legal assistant, you will hold a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Providing administrative support to partner and associate level professionals within the practice group.
Collaborate with lawyers, clerks and vendors for the collection, review and production of documents.
Assist the practice group's law clerks with internal and external coordination of logistics with respect to examinations for discovery, trials, and hearings.
Assist with the monthly billing process for Partners.
Accomplish organization goals by maintaining and adhering to file management policies and procedures.

Due to the nature of the firm's practice and the role, there is a requirement to be in the office 5 days per week.
As the ideal candidate, you possess 4+ years' experience as a civil litigation legal assistant, gained within a fast-paced firm environment. You have successfully obtained a legal administrative certification through an accredited institution and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are proficient in the entire MS Office Suite, a document management system, and legal billing software and have been described as a self-starter with a keen eye for detai.
