We are currently seeking a highly motivated and competent individual to join our Fredericton, NB location as an Account Executive – Commercial Lines . Working under minimal supervision, you’re responsible for managing and supporting the direction of GTI Broker Group’s commercial book in the Fredericton office. As a leader within the organization, you will work closely with the Director of Commercial Lines to ensure the success of the GTI - Fredericton location, working collaboratively with both internal and external parties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day operations, performance of commercial insurance portfolios and workflow to meet targeted benchmarks and ensure a smooth functioning, efficient organization.
  • Manage team performance, employee development, and Success Trackers to ensure employee performance is achieved and accountabilities are met.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and underwriting guidelines.
  • Champion the development and implementation of business change.
  • Participate and contribute to the development of office/Regional strategies.
  • Increase commercial insurance new business sales by surveying prospects to determine insurance needs, utilizing brokerage marketing plans and existing account referrals, collecting detailed risk and underwriting information, effectively building the relationship and closing the deal.
  • Offer exceptional service to clients by advising on insurance related issues, assessing their needs, and recommending convenient solutions by cross selling new policies.
  • Build positive working relationships with internal and external parties, including networking at industry events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education and/or completion of designation such as CAIB or CIP.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the insurance broker industry, preferably in a commercial environment.
  • Bilingualism (English & French) considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage high performing teams while managing change.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to present information or arguments in a convincing manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to select and implement best solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information in a convincing manner.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong technical and insurance market knowledge.
  • Extensive use of client management systems and navigation of various company portals.
