We are currently searching for a candidate who can drive strategy and execution of the OBU projects and accountabilities for the OBU Medical organization, specifically within one of the Center of Excellence for Evidence Generation, Publication & Partnerships. This role will include project oversight, budget management, organizational change, and cross-functional coordination with multiple teams in and outside of OBU Medical.


This position will report directly into the Innovation, Strategy & Operations organization (MIST) in OBU Medical, but would work closely with the Oncology Medical Evidence Head, Delivery and Operations.



Actively involved in review and development of short & long-term strategy for EGP2 organization. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of all developments which may affect the organization’s operations and policies and proactively advise Evidence Delivery partners to achieve business requirements and objectives.


Partner with the Medical Evidence Head, Delivery and Operations and the leadership team to progress from conceptualization to implementation on overarching team strategy and vision


Partners with other MIST PMs supporting Global Medical tumor and asset teams, Medical Excellence and PMO to ensure alignment and appropriate inclusion of support.


Responsible for strategic planning and prioritization of key team results such as development of roadmaps, walking decks, leadership presentations, etc.


Facilitates overall budget and strategic workforce planning across team including forecasting, phasing and prioritization across the business planning cycle (RBU, MTP) as well as rollup into Long Range Plans (LRPs)


Maintain awareness of projects/activities across teams in order to ensure alignment and find opportunities for collaboration, efficiencies and identify/drive areas for process improvement


Responsible for overall budget and contract management


Maintains project/results dashboard for portfolio progress against scorecard objectives or team initiatives


Responsible for TA portfolio management including liaison with procurement and management of documentation repository


Lead specific, strategic projects per the direction of Evidence Delivery Team Leadership (EDLT) Provide impactful communications on behalf of the leadership team to senior leadership & members of the strategy team


Accountable for implementation of medical standards


Leads effective agenda driven meetings with the EDLT, provides strategic input into meeting agendas, identify and track decisions, actions and risks for the team to monitor progression of activitie


Leads the preparation for departmental meetings including shaping the agenda, rehearsals, slides management and meeting facilitation Responsible for developing and maintaining departmental slides, portfolio strategy decks for various required business meetings


Supports the Leadership Team with daily operations of Evidence Delivery Team Defines with EDLT required offsite meetings and ensures flawless implementation


Coordinates with new EGP2 employee’s manager to onboard and assist in oversight around training records, compliance with other AZ business processes


Provides guidance and serves as Point of contact for Quality Management and appropriate training for the EGP2 team to ensure the team operates compliantly within the processes and SOPs.


May be assigned special projects, initiatives, workstreams by the Global Portfolio Director, EGP2.



Minimum of 2 years experience in Medical Affairs, Commercial and R&D (Global, regional, or local)


Experience of successful influencing cross functionally, cross-culturally and cross-brands


Experience of effective working in a multi-cultural, matrixed environment Experience working in a global setting, managing partners within different time zones


Experience preparing and/or delivering presentations to executive leadership


Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives



Graduate level degree in sciences or business degree


Six Sigma Medical/Process Excellence and/or Project Management/PMP/FPX certification.


Depth of understanding of medical, scientific and/or commercial pharmaceutical marketplace of Oncology.


Consulting experience Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Skilled in organizational change including process development and implementation, people development, organizational efficiency, and communication


Delivery focus with an ability to supervise and manage multiple project outputs in very short timelines


Evidence of the ability to pull together diverse teams over whom they have no line management responsibility in a matrix environment (i.e. Strong leadership attributes to clarify strategic direction, generate commitment, balance short and long-term needs, resolve differences constructively, and reinforce expectations
