The Officer Rail Grinding is responsible for CN’s Grinding Operations. The role monitors the work of internal team members as well as contractors interacting with rail grinding trains, water trucks and fire suppression equipment. The incumbent conducts pre-grinding surveys with local track forces and provides track protection for grinding operations. Evaluate team performance and ensure compliance with CN and contractor policies and procedures
· Plan daily and short-term work to be conducted
· Communicate daily plan and work on short-term plans for Area Supervisors
· Communicate with Rail Traffic Controllers and plan daily activities
· Review daily work sheets to ensure alignment with CN and contractor policies and procedures
· Review and support work to continually improve policies, procedures, guidelines, and playbooks
· The role is primarily performed outdoors in various types of weather and environmental conditions. The position is subject to changing shift times based on business needs. The role requires extensive travel (100%) to field sites across CN’s network in Canada. Travel to the US may be required for training and other events. The incumbent spends a significant amount of travel time away from home and must be available to work nights. o Experience in railroad operations, production gangs or construction
