The Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) program aims to increase access to publicly funded, evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and related approaches for Ontarians with depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions (i.e. obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, health anxiety etc.). The program is delivered through regional psychotherapy networks as a coordinated provincial program. Each network is comprised of several organizations, including: (1) Network Lead Organization (NLO) who provides quality and administrative oversight and support for providers in their network to implement/operate OSP, and (2) Service Delivery Sites (SDS) in communities across the region who provide care to clients, with fidelity to the program model. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) and St. Joseph’s Health Care London as one NLO. The OSP CBT Therapist will participate in regular clinical consultation to ensure high quality service delivery and adherence to the OSP Clinical Model. The OSP CBT Therapist will provide training to other members of the OSP network as required, as well as supervise student trainees. This is a hybrid role that provides an opportunity to work both virtually and on-site.

Master’s degree in social work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Psychotherapy required
Registered member in good standing with one of the five Colleges regulated to perform the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy in Ontario:
•The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
•Minimum 2-3 years post-graduate clinical experience in the provision of mental health and/or addictions treatment, including:
•Experience in screening, triage, clinical assessment, and delivery of evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) treatment models with clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and anxiety related conditions. Additional training in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) preferred.
•Documented evidence of formal CBT and CPT training with appropriate supervision/clinical consultation preferred.
•Demonstrated knowledge and practiced skills in providing culturally safe and responsive mental health services to clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is preferred.
•Experience working in a community-based or outpatient setting.
•Experience providing clinical training to RHP and/or student trainees.
•The science and practice of structured individual and group-based psychotherapy, including a full range of psychotherapeutic and assessment techniques to assess, plan, coordinate and implement specific clinical protocols.
•Diagnostic categories and distinguishing features of in-scope problems (i.e. depression, anxiety and anxiety-related conditions) as listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), and the etiology and treatment of these disorders.
•Comprehensive clinical intake assessment in mental health/addictions from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, client-centered framework.
•Motivational interviewing techniques to assess treatment readiness.
•A stepped-care clinical model/pathway and related utilization.
•Intersectionality and social determinants of health related to equitable access to, and participation in mental health care.
•Anti-racist, anti-oppressive theory and practice principles in mental health/addictions at a client and system-level.
•Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Regulated Health Professions Act, Health Care Consent Act, and professional standards to ensure compliance and consistency in provision of client care.
•Emergency client care procedures as taught in Emergency First Response, Crisis Intervention and fire procedures to promote coordinated and consistent response to emergency events, i.e. Program and hospital policies and procedures in order to practice within the expected standards of the organization and to recognize abnormal events that may affect client care, activities, or safety and need to be reported to a manager, in order to provide a safe environment for client and staff.
•Computer software to generate correspondence and input data for a variety program specific tools e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, workload measurement, and electronic health records.
•Knowledge of teaching techniques to support adult learning.
Fluency in French and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
•Passionate about contributing to positive social change and commitment to anti-oppression and anti-racism to reduce health disparities and promote health equity.
•Teamwork skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships, problem solve and resolve conflict with inter-professional staff across the OSP network (e.g. administrative staff, clinical staff, regional therapists, consultants, program managers, and directors).
•Comfort in utilizing an online learning management system and in providing care virtually and/or by telephone.
•Good work performance and attendance record is essential.
Provide individual and group protocol-based structured psychotherapy, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT), in adherence with the OSP Clinical Model and Training guidelines to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions.
•Provide psychotherapy services virtually, by telephone, and in-person, as informed by client and program needs.
•In consultation with OSP Clinical Consultant(s), utilize measurement-based care and standardized assessment tools (e.g. In consultation with OSP Clinical Consultant(s), implement cultural adaptations of treatment as needed to provide culturally competent care.
•Provide ongoing risk assessment and intervene as appropriate (i.e. crisis intervention, safety planning, communication of risk), utilizing best practice guidelines and SJHH policies/procedures.
•Work in collaboration with clients, their formal and informal supports, the OSP West team, and relevant care providers within client’s circle of care to support successful integration of care plan(s) and enhance quality of coordinated care and transition to/from/between the OSP program and external services.
•Actively incorporate anti-racist, anti-oppressive practices and principles in the delivery of client-centered, trauma-informed care at all levels of service.
•Work collaboratively with clients, family members, referral sources, community partners, and the OSP program’s network in the provision of accessible, equitable and inclusive care (e.g. interpretation services, culturally appropriate and relevant care, incorporating anti-racism and decolonizing approaches to care, considering social determinants of health and trauma-informed approaches).
•Diagnostic Assessment Research Tool, PHQ-9, GAD-7 and other diagnostic specific assessments) in accordance with the OSP Clinical Model and Training guidelines to: (1) identify symptoms experienced by client, (2) determine suitability for OSP, and (3) inform individualized treatment plans and support implementation and monitoring of stepped care pathway.
•Provide support to the OSP West central intake team (e.g. administrative assistants, Intake Screeners, Intake Clinicians), as needed.
•Assist the Program Manager, Network Clinical Lead(s), Clinical Consultants and other OSP CBT Therapists on specific OSP West projects related to the regional development of the OSP West program, as required. #
