Job Overview
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Real Estate, the Real Estate Transactions Manager is a key member of the Real Estate team which is responsible for securing new locations and managing the real estate functions of our existing network of stores.
Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Skilled in the leadership, management, and coordination of commercial, facility, and/or office real estate property activities, including execution through implementation.
- Prepare financial and reporting analysis for all transactions and projects.
- Develop business justification and recommendations for executive leadership team’s approval.
- Partner cross-functionally to assist in the development and maintenance of short- and long-range real estate contracts.
- Assist with the strategic planning for the acquisition, renewal, and termination of SNDL’s various locations, including financial analysis, market information, offering terms and conditions, marketing materials, and contract review.
- Review and update internal real estate best practices such as forms and documents, develop benchmarking standards and key team metrics
- Manage current real estate assets by taking a proactive approach by anticipating lease renewals and terminations and all critical dates, auditing operating expenses, handling subleases, coordinating landlord approval of alterations, completing estoppel certificates, paying rents and property taxes on a timely basis, and assisting in property tax appeals.
- Strong relationship building skills with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, legal, landlords, vendors, consultants, and store teams.
- Research market comparable rents.
Experience and Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in business, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4+ years in a similar role.
- Proficient PC skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience working in the commercial real estate market is a requirement.
- Understanding of a retail leasing is a requirement.

- Strong time management and organization skills, and an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Capacity to learn easily and ability to work with little supervision.
- Must pass a basic security clearance.
