Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, this role will be responsible for supporting the People & Culture department with all facets of the recruitment and selection strategy for recruiting top talent to meet all branch positions. This role will have responsibilities which include new hire onboarding & offboarding, employee relations, return to work and performance management, and various other exciting projects within the department. Working closely with the Payroll & Benefits Coordinator, this role would also include backup for the Payroll & Benefits Coordinator ensuring preparation and review of all processes on all payroll-related documents are accurately prepared in a timely manner. Recruitment from start to finish including job postings, tracking of applications, pre-screen telephone interviews, reference checks and preparing employment contracts.
Collaborating with managers in the process of recruitment, onboarding/offboarding.
Oversee the human resource employee database, ensuring all employee information is accurately recorded and cross-checked.
Ensures HR process and procedures are consistently followed and communicated.
Provides general assistance and communication to employees on HR-related issues.
Ability to manage multiple recruitment requisitions and competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport, resolving conflicts, and fostering positive relationships with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
Basic understanding of HR fundamentals including employment laws, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
Proficiency in using HRIS software to manage employee data, streamline processes, and generate reports.
The ability to draft policies, conduct meetings and interact with employees at all levels.
A basic understanding of HR metrics and the ability to interpret data to assist in HR decisions.
Upholding ethical standards in handling sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring fairness in HR practices.
Capability to manage HR projects efficiently, from planning to execution, while coordinating with different teams and stakeholders.
Access to a vehicle and ability to travel within our branch network.
University or college diploma/degree in Human Resources management or related area of study
~ Recognized member of the CPHR is an asset
~1-2 years in human resource function as an HR coordinator, assistant, generalist
~ Experience in a payroll system – Payworks, ADP, Ceridian is an asset
