Prairie Winds Secondary School (Grades 7-12) currently invites motivated individuals that possess a Red Seal in Culinary Arts to make an application for the Culinary Arts Instructor position available August 26, 2024, until June 26, 2025.

Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) coverage (as per collective agreement).

Instruct a number of commercial (Pro Cooking) modules and courses
Work closely with the Home Economics Teacher in developing modules and courses that would not overlap between programs
Prepare and promote nutritious food items for students
The successful candidate will oversee all activities related to the Coaldale Prairie Winds High School commercial kitchen, including, but limited to:

Serving food to the community centre side of the building (hours TBD)
Previous experience instructing culinary arts an asset;
An ethic of service to students, colleagues, and community
Experience in the food industry would be an asset
A Food Safe handling permit is required or needs to be obtained
In order to maintain a safe and secure working environment, applicants new to The Palliser School Division must provide:

Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector check from Local Police Service or RCMP detachment;
Social Insurance Number (SIN) card or document issued by Service Canada; SIN card/document must be in current legal name. Government issued ID - valid driver's license, valid passport or Nexus card.
Cover letter directed to Curtis Uyesugi , Principal, Prairie Winds Secondary School ;
Resume summarizing training and experience;
Copy of your valid Alberta Teaching Certificate;
