BAS (Building Automation Systems) Technician

Reporting to the Building Automation Operations Manager, the Building Automation Technician will be responsible for projects, maintenance, and service calls. Under the supervision of the Building Automation Operations Manager, Project Managers, and with the help of Service Coordinators and Administration, the Building Automation Technician will conduct themselves successfully and as required to fulfill contracts, contribute to projects, and service our valued clients and stakeholders.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude, but are not limited to the following:Compliance with client's Health and Safety PoliciesInvestigation of existing or new systems, existing or new equipmentProvide take-offs and assist with quotationsNetwork start-up and setup and troubleshooting (IP, RS-485, etc.)Point-to-point verification of I/OConfigure, optimize, and troubleshoot of systemsImplement a graphical user interface (GUI)Documenting and cataloging commissioningSubmission of commissioning reportsPerform wiring checkout and automation start-ups using provided software and toolsAdjustment and calibration as requiredOperate and configure PC workstations, user interfaces, IP networking devicesPerform software and hardware troubleshootingMaintains daily, weekly, and/or monthly documentation and or reports as requiredParticipates in training directed at increasing job-related skillsContributes to the training of other employees as directedWorks according to the schedule prepared by the service coordinatorsReacts to emergencies as needed including emergency calls at non-scheduled hoursAssists and ensures that all work areas are returned to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe conditionReports to supervisor any information having the potential to affect customer or employee relationsCore Competencies:Building Automation Design & IntegrationTime ManagementAccountability & DependabilityCommunicationPositivityDesire to ImprovePlanning & OrganizingEthics & IntegrityRequired Experience, Education & Certification:College Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering Technology or similarDemonstrated experience working withBuilding Automation Systems,IP Networking,Low voltage control systemsMechanical and HVAC systemsElectromechanical devicesPneumatic ControlExperience with some or all following programming tools:Niagara WorkbenchSchneider Electric EcoStruxureFinBuilderHoneywell Spyder ToolsJohnson Controls PCTAmerican Automatrix Engineering CentreDistech Controls GFXAbility to adapt quickly to new software and interfaces.Comfortable in most aspects of computer operation
