Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our team running the Onion Lake Thermal Asset for IPC Canada Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and progressing long term plans on both the subsurface and surface facilities at the Onion Lake Thermal Asset. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in the SAGD industry.Reporting:This position reports to the Asset Manager of Onion Lake Thermal in CalgaryKey Responsibilities:Develop and execute sustaining pads planning and direct planning between Production, Projects, Operations and Drilling leadsWork closely with cross-functional teams including geologists, drilling engineers, operations personnel, production and projects engineers to plan and execute projectsSupport reservoir engineering research through classical reservoir engineering techniques, reservoir simulation and well modelingEnsure Technical and Economic evaluations are completed in a timely manner and with accuracySupport and develop new projects focusing on key area’s (Facility constraints, emissions reduction, operational efficiency, OPEX reduction, CAPEX reduction, Future pads routing, Infil wells and overall well design)Evaluate existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for optimizationKeep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory requirements to ensure products comply with industry standards and regulationsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related field8+ years of relevant experience in the industryStrong analytical, problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentExperience with project management and product development lifecycleFamiliarity with industry standards and regulations
