Position: SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

This position is responsible for contributing to and executing Greenfire’s growth strategy and assets including the ongoing assessment and development plans for the optimization of SAGD wells in Greenfire’s portfolio at its Demo and Hangingstone Expansion operations. This role works closely with all engineering disciplines to identify development opportunities.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the DIRECTOR RESERVOIR ENGINEERING

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

· Conduct well and asset development project activities, including production forecasts, economic analysis, regulatory application support and optimization of well design while providing recommendations for efficient corporate growth.

· Analyzes SAGD reservoir performance, recommends asset depletion plans and manages forecasts for near term sustainability and long-term planning of well pads.

· Conducts research by gathering analogue data and developing models to support the development plan of an asset

· Leads competitor analysis on the SAGD industry and provides presentations and updates to management. Identifies engineering projects and collaborates with other disciplines to understand project scope, design, timelines, and resources for proposed initiatives.

· Providing recommendations with industry best practices and emerging trends by developing strong relationships with external stakeholders.

· Collaborate in the capital and budget planning process by providing data to drive recommendations for short- and long-term strategic optimization of assets.

· Work closely with the geoscience and engineering teams in reviewing and booking corporate reserves while evaluating comprehensive assessment of assets.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET:

· Valid APEGA membership with a Professional Engineer designation

· Ten (10) years of experience in Development/Exploitation Engineering role or in an engineering project management role supporting a development discipline, such as drilling, completions, production, or reservoir engineering.

· Experience in the Canadian Oil and Gas industry, specifically with comparable in-situ thermal oil sands field operations is a required skillset.

· Knowledge of well completions, thermal operations, production and development, completions, and wellbore hydraulics

· Economic background such as MBA, CFA, or experience in banking is a benefit

· Strong working knowledge and proficiency Excel and the Office365 suite as well as petroleum industry software such as Geoscout, Exotherm, Qflow, TWBS would be considered an asset.
