As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you will be at the forefront of the organization's architectural evolution. Your role involves overseeing architectural projects, managing project workflows, collaborating with design and construction teams, and ensuring project alignment with expectations. The Senior Architectural Technologist will be responsible for coordinating project development and permitting processes for a diverse pipeline of hotel and restaurant renovation and new construction projects.
Assist the Project and Permitting Manager in overseeing the Engineering, Permitting, and Project Development processes for a diverse pipeline of hotel, restaurant, resort, and renovation projects.
Coordinate and manage the permitting activities and documentation required for project development, including acquiring land, obtaining development permits, and building permits.
Leading front-end hotel design development, including site plan applications and building permit releases, and providing ongoing support throughout the project.
Serving as a rendering support member for the permitting team bullpen, contributing high-quality visual representations of project designs.
Supporting Interior Design coordination for new construction and renovation projects, to ensure seamless integration of architectural and interior elements.
Coordinating drawings between all disciplines, ensuring effective communication and integration of architectural plans with other engineering disciplines.
Administering contracts and reviewing shop drawings, conducting thorough reviews of project specifications, coordinating with contractors, and performing on-site inspections as necessary.
Mentoring team members on technical skills, providing guidance and support in areas such as drafting techniques, software utilization, and construction detailing.
Responding to and tracking RFI (Request for Information) submissions, actively addressing queries and clarifications from contractors and stakeholders.
At least 5 years of architectural experience with relevant project experience.
Diploma in Architectural Technology (or equivalent).
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to produce a complete set of construction drawings with input from Architects, Consultants, and Senior Building Technicians.
Experience with municipalities, including building permit submission, building permit applications, and responding to municipalities.
Working knowledge of building envelope concepts, construction practice, and building systems.
Wood Frame Construction experience.
Detail-oriented, versatile, and flexible, with excellent creative and problem-solving abilities.
Working knowledge of the Canada Building Code and the British Columbia Building Code.
