What You'll Be Doing:

  • Managing the Employee Labour Relations strategy while enabling and maintaining positive relationships within a unionized environment
  • Reviewing and implementing changes to HR policies, procedures and practices while ensure compliance is followed
  • Driving effective recruitment and onboarding practices to engage and retain talent
  • Managing and evaluating the Total Rewards program to ensure cost-effectiveness and competitiveness. Participate in annual review, preparation and implementation of the organization's wage and salary programs
  • Keeping up to date on industry trends, best practices and legislation, while reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Managing training and development programs for employees
  • Overseeing the company's Heath and Safety program and the functioning of the Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Developing and maintaining the company's Human Resource Information System
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry (Food & Beverage preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Professional HR Certification is an asset (i.e., CHRP/CHRL)
  • 3+ years of experience working in a unionized environment
  • Strong communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in Workforce Planning, Talent Management, Compensation, benefits, HRIS, Health & Safety and Labour Relations
