Can you see yourself leading the development and implementation of a site specific sustainable forest management plan? Leading the implementation of the CRL Sustainable Forest Management Plan.
Reporting on progress of the CRL Sustainable Forest Management Plan to regulators as per the CRL site license.
Ensuring the implementation is in accordance to the schedule committed to the regulators.
Specifically engaging with interested First Nations to understand their needs, their comments and consideration for inclusion in the CRL Sustainable Forest Management Plan.
Demonstrate strong understanding of forestry regulations, best practices, and their practical implementation.
Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and Ontario environmental laws and regulations.
Collaborate seamlessly with management staff, co-workers, and support groups within facilities and laboratories, emphasizing teamwork.
Demonstrate organizational and project management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Access, Excel, data management and project management software.
Demonstrated expertise with over 15 years of hands-on experience in forestry operations.
Prior work experience in a nuclear facility or similar specialized environment is an asset.
Familiarity with ISO-14001 standards and their application is an asset.
Work experience in field inspection to ensure compliance with Federal requirements is required.
Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry from an accredited Canadian University or has equivalent qualifications AND is an active member of the Ontario Professional Forester Association authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization and a recognize Registered Professional Forester.
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.
This role requires work in the field including under several weather conditions. The field work would involve walking long distance in a forested environment and being outside for an extended period of time.
The office working environment is offered in a cubicle and or shared space setting.

This role is a fully onsite role that requires the employee to primarily work at CNL’s Chalk River Laboratory site, with only occasional opportunities to work remotely, if desired by the employee.
