Your new CompanyOur client is a leading Oil & Gas company looking to hire Network Technician for a 6-month contract with a possibility of extension.Your new roleThe Intermediate Network Security Technician is responsible for the ongoing administration, optimization, and troubleshooting of the organization's Palo Alto Network Security infrastructure. This role provides advanced support to the network security team and contributes to the continuous improvement of the company's overall security posture.Key Responsibilities:Proactively monitor, analyze, and interpret logs, alerts, and events from Palo Alto firewalls, next-generation firewalls (NGFWs), and related security toolsPerform complex configuration changes, updates, and upgrades on Palo Alto Networks devices, ensuring compliance with security policies and best practicesLead the implementation, deployment, and integration of new Palo Alto Network Security solutions, including next-generation firewalls, VPNs, and advanced threat prevention featuresTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Palo Alto Networks security devices, such as network connectivity, policy conflicts, performance bottlenecks, and security incidentsCollaborate with the network, system, and application teams to ensure effective integration of Palo Alto Networks security solutions with the broader IT infrastructureProvide advanced-level support and guidance to end-users on the effective utilization of Palo Alto Networks security features and functionalitiesMaintain comprehensive documentation on the configuration and operation of the Palo Alto Networks security environment, including reviewing disaster recovery and business continuity plansActively participate in security reviews, audits, and compliance activities related to the Palo Alto Networks security controls, and recommend improvementsStay informed of the latest Palo Alto Networks security features, best practices, and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team to enhance the organization's security postureContribute to the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures relevant to the Palo Alto Networks environmentWhat you'll need to succeedA bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is typically required.Relevant certifications, such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), are highly desirable.Proficiency in managing and configuring Palo Alto Network Security devices, including firewalls and NGFWs.Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.Familiarity with VPN technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and advanced threat prevention features.Knowledge of routing and switching concepts.At least 2-3 years of experience in network security administration.Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks devices and related security tools.Prior work in troubleshooting complex security issues and resolving incidents.Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to esther.samson-andrews@hays.com.
