Senior Estimator / Head of Building Science Location: Etobicoke, ON (In-office) | Hybrid/Remote for U.S. roles Industry: Construction Manufacturing – ICI Territory: Canada, USA, Global Our client is an industry leader in advanced building-integrated technologies, specializing in high-performance cladding and solar façade systems. They are seeking a Senior Estimator / Head of Building Science to support project bidding, provide technical expertise on building envelope systems, and guide sales and estimation teams with accurate, compliant, and value-driven technical solutions. Responsibilities 1. Project Bidding & Estimation Prepare accurate and competitive bids for construction and cladding projects. Review plans, specifications, and scopes of work. Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and subcontractors. Submit professional bid packages and conduct risk and market analysis. 2. Technical Sales Support Provide technical guidance on building envelope systems and product integration. Support client meetings with technical presentations and documentation. Answer product performance and installation inquiries. 3. Estimation Leadership Lead and mentor the estimation team to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Oversee takeoffs using tools like Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and Excel. Coordinate with engineering and production teams for alignment. 4. Building Science Expertise Evaluate building envelope performance, compliance, and sustainability. Ensure adherence to codes and standards such as ASHRAE and LEED. Provide recommendations for design and integration of façade and solar products. 5. Process Improvement & Cross-Department Collaboration Streamline workflows between estimation, engineering, and sales. Implement KPI-driven improvements and best practices across teams. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field. 7+ years of experience in cladding, building envelope systems, or façade construction. Proven experience in construction estimation and cost modeling. Proficiency in CAD and estimation software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift). Strong understanding of building codes and façade/solar integration standards. Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify technical concepts. Leadership experience managing or coaching technical teams.
