Description

The Demand Planner responsible for sales forecasting plays a crucial role in supply chain management, as sales forecasts are a major element in the generation of production and purchasing requirements. He is also responsible for overseeing Product Allocation to protect our customers whenever there are risks and exposures.Product Allocations will be managed via IBP and will be communicated to the sales and supply chain management teams. He will be responsible for understanding the market, customer behaviors, strategic importance and managing global demand. Finally, he is in charge of order management to ensure that our customers do not buy above a certain threshold. Maintain and update the Drug Shortage Web Site to keep Health Canada informed of our shortages.

Responsabilities & Duties :

  • Analysis
  • Past sales to detect trends
  • Variances between sales vs. forecasts vs. open sales orders
  • Performance metrics to understand key contributors
  • Plan and facilitate recurring forecast review meetings with key stakeholders, namely Sales and Marketing
  • Based on stakeholder analysis, rationale and input
  • Participate in monthly meetings with selected key clients
  • Participate in the Budget process by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance
  • Communicate significant adjustments to Sales and Supply Chain Management teams
  • Based on stakeholder analysis, rationale and input
  • Obtain their approval to adjust forecasts based on analyses of internal plant capacity and inputs from external suppliers
  • Risks & Opportunities: Quantify risks and opportunities arising from the market and reflect them in APO, if necessary, working in conjunction with the Sales and Marketing teams
  • Actively participate in the S&OP process
    • Sales Forecast Accuracy, Underselling Bias, Overselling Bias
    • Top Contributors and Worst Offenders
  • Explain the significant changes since the previous S&OP
  • Largest Increases and Decreases in Sales Forecasts
  • Long-term forecasting
  • In collaboration with the Marketing and Sales team, identify the products on which we expect growth in order to implement and maintain these assumptions in the system
  • Gather information on products that will be launched in the next 4 years in order to implement and maintain these assumptions in the system
  • Product Allocation
  • Understand the reasons for gaps and exposures
  • Using IBP, set up an Allocation and check in with the sales team
  • Adjust IBP settings if necessary
  • With the approval of Sales, ask customers to place filters to protect our T2 customers
  • Order Management
  • Analyze and approve, if necessary, the daily orders of wholesalers sent by Customer Service according to the previously agreed thresholds
  • Analyze and approve, if necessary, direct sales rep orders sent by customer service that are blocked due to product allocations
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Sales and Regulatory teams to ensure everyone is aligned to submit reports on the Drug Shortage website
  • Review and improve the process to provide transparent and timely reporting to Health Canada
  • Constant search for process and performance improvements
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes to correct deficiencies or improve performance
  • The Demand Planner is also a super user for APO (Sales Forecasting) and IBP (for Product Allocations)

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Bilingual orally and in writing (English and French)
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP and APO or any related systems
  • IBP knowledge / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning an asset
  • Advanced Excel capability and ability to preview data via PowerPoint presentations
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to present results upwards
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management
  • Hands-on experience in reporting
Qualifications Education Required

Bachelor or better in Autre - Other.

Experience Required

Bachelor : Supply Chain management, Marketing, Science, Engineering, Finance.

5 years:

5 years: 5 years' experience in Sales Forecasting, Supply Chain Planning, Product Management or related fields. Preferred

Experience in the generic pharmaceutical sector or in a related industry where commodity markets and product substitution are an important industry feature is an advantage.
