Résumé du poste

Le développeur de projet organise et gère plusieurs projets au Canada et contribue aux efforts déployés dans le monde entier. Ce poste intègre les activités de développement, incluant la planification de projet et le respect des délais, la caractérisation de sites, l’obtention des permis et licences et la sensibilisation des parties prenantes. Le développeur de projet est un membre essentiel d'une équipe multidisciplinaire hautement performante et qualifiée, favorisant la collaboration, stimulant l'innovation, identifiant les opportunités de croissance de l'équipe et réalisant des gains d'efficacité. Le candidat retenu aura la capacité d'appliquer rigoureusement les principes de gestion de projet tout en utilisant ses compétences en communication pour favoriser les interactions entre le personnel d'ingénierie, les agences gouvernementales et réglementaires scientifiques et non scientifiques et le public. Les domaines d'expertise technique jugés utiles pour ce rôle comprennent les sciences de l'environnement (physique et biologique), l'océanographie, l'hydrologie et le génie électrique, civil ou environnemental.

Compétences essentielles et responsabilités:
  • Gérer la mise en œuvre, l'adoption et l’optimisation des processus de développement et d'exploitation de projets au Canada avec un focus sur les jalons et les calendriers des projets.
  • Gérer l'élaboration des objectifs, des calendriers et du budget du projet impliquant toutes les parties prenantes concernées durant la phase de développement du projet, en collaboration avec la Directrice du Développement Canada et l’équipe Produits et Services.
  • Effectuer la gestion des risques pour minimiser les risques du projet.
  • Soutenir l'identification de nouvelles opportunités de développement, de partenaires stratégiques et de mécanismes de financement.
  • Soutenir la planification, la gestion et la mise en œuvre des efforts de caractérisation des sites de projets. Capacité à se déplacer dans des endroits éloignés pour l'engagement des parties prenantes et la caractérisation du site.
  • Représenter ORPC lors d'événements de l'industrie, tels que des événements d'associations professionnelles et des conférences, et fournir des commentaires et des informations sur les tendances du marché, les résultats du réseautage, etc.
Compétences et responsabilités supplémentaires
  • Surveiller la conformité aux codes, permis, pratiques, politiques d’assurance qualité et de contrôle qualité (QA/QC), normes de performance et spécifications applicables.
  • Créer et maintenir une documentation de projet complète.
  • Gérer, réviser et coordonner des projets et des propositions élaborés en interne ou par des consultants.
  • Élaborez des objectifs et des plans précis pour hiérarchiser, organiser et réaliser le travail.
  • Analyser les informations et évaluer les résultats pour choisir la meilleure solution et résoudre les problèmes.
  • Capacité à articuler des sujets scientifiques et techniques complexes pour des publics variés.
  • Compétence en rédaction technique pour les propositions, rapports, permis et les études environnementales et de marché.
Formation et qualifications requises
  • Baccalauréat en géographie, sciences marines, énergie ou domaine connexe.
  • 3 à 5 ans d'expérience dans le développement de projets dans le domaine des énergies renouvelables ou de projets similaires, y compris: rédaction de la portée des travaux, planification, budgétisation, interprétation de documents, tarification sur offre ferme, analyse des offres, conception-construction et projets négociés.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication verbale et écrite (anglais et français).
  • Excellentes compétences interpersonnelles et de service à la clientèle.
  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office ou des logiciels connexes.
  • Connaissance des systèmes ERP et des logiciels de base de données.
  • Capacité à travailler dans une équipe multidisciplinaire et multiculturelle.
Conditions de travail
  • Poste permanent à temps plein (40h/semaine)

  • Poste basé à Sherbrooke avec une présence hebdomadaire requise au bureau et la possibilité de travailler à distance.
  • Déplacements dans des endroits éloignés, tant au Canada qu'à l'étranger.
  • Travail de bureau mais aussi à l'extérieur dans toutes les conditions météorologiques.
  • L’employé doit avoir une forme physique lui permettant d’effectuer du travail manuel, sur le terrain, lorsque nécessaire.

About the Role

The Project Developer will organize and manage multiple projects in Canada and contribute to efforts around the world. This position will entail several development activities including schedules and deadlines, site characterization, permitting and licensing and stakeholder outreach. This role will be a critical member of a high-performing, skilled, multi-disciplinary team, fostering collaboration, driving innovation, identifying opportunities for team growth, and delivering efficiencies. The successful candidate will have the ability to rigorously apply basic science concepts, and the ability to use communication skills to mediate interactions among engineering staff, scientific and non-scientific governmental and regulatory agencies, and the public. Areas of technical expertise which will be considered useful include environmental science (physical and biological), oceanography, hydrology, electrical and civil or environmental engineering.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities
  • Manage the implementation, adoption and refinement of Canada project development and operations processes with particular focus on project milestones and schedules.
  • Responsible for the development of project objectives, schedules, and budget involving all relevant stakeholders, during the project development stage, in collaboration with the Director of Development and the Product and Services team.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Support the identification of new development opportunities, strategic partners, and funding mechanisms.
  • Assist in planning and performing site characterization including, but not limited to, hydraulic resource assessments (desktop analyses, field measurements and data analysis) as well as environmental studies (ice, fisheries and marine mammals). Ability to travel to remote locations for stakeholder engagement and site characterization.
  • Represent ORPC at industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market trends, networking results, etc.
  • Ability to articulate complex science and engineering topics to diverse audiences.
  • Technical writing proficiency for proposals, reports, permitting, environmental and market studies.
Additional Skills and Responsibilities
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, permits, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Manage, review, and coordinate projects and proposals developed in-house or by consultants.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Marine Sciences, Energy or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and database software.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with project development in renewable energy or similar projects, including: writing scope of work, scheduling, budgeting, document interpretation, pricing on hard bid, bid analysis, design-build, and negotiated projects.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
Physical Requirements
  • This position is a mix of desk work and fieldwork. While performing desk work, the candidate must be able to spend prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be willing to travel to remote locations, both domestic and international.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • This position is based out of Sherbrooke with the ability to work remotely.
