Our client in the manufacturing sector is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer on a contract basis to work on their Security initatives.Duration: 6 monthsLocation: mainly remote, with some Toronto presence requiredResponsibilities:Identity Management: Manage and support identity management solutions, Identity Providers (IdP), and directory synchronization systems across the enterprise for cloud, as-a-service, and on-premises applications and platforms. Oversee the management of identities, groups, application registrations, and Single Sign-On (SSO) services for both users and devices.Security Operations: Assist in securing applications, services, and integrating security processes and solutions, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, information protection, access controls, content filtering, and intrusion detection systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain security measures.Microsoft 365 Expertise: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Microsoft 365 roadmaps, technologies, and releases, focusing on Active Directory (Azure AD), Intune, Group Policy, User and Group Creation, Migration Activities, Teams, and general Enterprise Infrastructure. Provide guidance and support for the adoption of new Microsoft 365 features and updates.Incident & Problem Management: Perform and provide incident and problem management for escalations from Level 1 and Level 2 support teams, as well as for security incidents. Provide technical expertise and engage with cross-functional teams and external vendors as necessary.Identity Access Management (IAM): Manage and support Identity Access Management (IAM) solutions, including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Google Workspace, OneLogin, and other related systems. Implement and manage SSO, MFA, SAML 2.0, OAuth/OIDC, SCIM protocols, API management, and encryption technologies.Infrastructure & Networking: Maintain and manage infrastructure, endpoint management, cloud technologies, and enterprise directories. Understand and manage network protocols/services and infrastructure, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching, and Firewalls, in both on-premise and cloud environments.Automation & Scripting: Utilize PowerShell, PowerShell Workflow, and other scripting languages to automate and support physical and virtual endpoints, applications, directory services, and general IT operations.Requirements8+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on identity management, Microsoft 365, and security operations.Proven experience with IAM solutions, including Active Directory, Azure AD, SSO, MFA, and related protocols.Strong understanding of network infrastructure and protocols, including experience with both on-premise and cloud environments.Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, CompTIA Security+).• Experience with migration activities and enterprise infrastructure projects.• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
